“We must all pass through a gate of transformation to move from age-ing to sage-ing. This enables us to use our life experience to enrich our elder years, face mortality, repair relationships, develop a regenerative spirit and transmit wisdom to future generations. Death as Part of Life Retreat
March 19-23, 2016
Conscious Learning Community invites you to join us for a life affirming, thought provoking and transformative retreat.
This retreat is part of the Sage-ing Mentorship Training based on the work of Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, author of From Age-ing to Sage-ing and on his latest teachings found in The December Project by Sara Davidson.
Continue your training or simply gain the insight and skills for your own life.
When we recognize that life is finite we are challenged to live each moment fully.
This intensive program focuses on facing our mortality with honesty, vulnerability and integrity. We will learn how to expand our comfort levels in dealing with dying, death, after life and bereavement and through this work bring new meaning into our lives.
Our experience will include readings, journaling, embodied meditation and discussion. Each of us will have time to write our own obituary, vidui or “deathbed confession,” and spiritual or ethical will. We will also work with end-of-life medical wishes. We will take home with us the tools to update and expand these writings as life continues to unfold. While learning transformative practices based in Jewish wisdom, we will also draw on other traditions.
When: March 19 -23, 2015. Starting Sunday, March 19th, in the afternoon, followed by March 20-23, 8:45 am-4:00 pm.
Where: The day-retreat will take place at 3982 Arbol Court., Boulder 80301
Cost: $400 plus $20 for materials.
