“Life Reimagined – When you find yourself wondering, ‘What’s next?’ with Wes Corchoron

Elderhood offers an opportunity to discover new possibilities or, as Joseph Campbell said, “Follow your bliss.” No longer defined primarily by work or family roles, we’re now free to define ourselves based on our passions and to become the person we truly want to be. Nonetheless, discovering who we truly are and manifesting our purpose can be elusive or daunting.

AARP’s Life Reimagined is a new way of thinking about what’s next in your life. Backed by decades of research, the Life Reimagined Checkup introduces a powerful step-by-step approach to help you discover possibilities, prepare for change, and make your ideas real – whether you’re focused on work, health, relationships, or finally pursuing your passion. When you find yourself wondering, “What’s next?” Life Reimagined will help you connect to others on similar journeys who can offer support, suggestions and guidance.

Wes has a varied background including Air Force pilot, aerospace program manager and counselor/coach. He has advanced education in psychology and cognitive science. Wes brings his skills, knowledge and wisdom to make the Life Reimagined Checkup a memorable and thought-provoking experience.

When Transition and Change Interrupt Your Life — How to Understand and Thrive in the Midst of Life’s Transitions and Changes

This workshop will help participants learn how a life transition or change can be an invitation to a new spiritual call. It will offer distinctive insights into the nature of transitions based on current brain research and spiritual principles, and demonstrate how the brain and spirit predictably and sequentially respond to change. The 4-color model of the “6 stages of the ChangeCycleTM” is a hands-on tool that attendees will be given.  Using this model will allow participants to understand where they are within the ChangeCycle and corresponding strategies to help them move forward.

“Stepping Stones in Our Lives” with Rosemary Lohndorf

Rosemary Lohndorf, certified Journal to the Self ® instructor, will lead us through a journaling exercise that follows after our last two presentations of life review. We will examine “Stepping Stones” in our lives, listing events that had an impact on our life paths. We will then delve deeper into each stepping stone event with a journaling activity. This is a great tool for further life review or for starting a memoir-writing project. Bring your journals, and materials will also be available for writing.
